Colorhue Dyes

Colorhue dyes http://www.silkthings.com/understanding_silk_dyes_and_paints.htm are being discussed on the Quiltart List, and several people wanted to see a successful piece that had been painted with them. Here's an art quilt I did several years ago for my father (who is an Erte' fan) ... "After Erte", 44"x66". The colors were quite vivid, and remain so. If I recall, I used them almost straight from the bottle, not diluting them much at all. Expensive, but worth it, I thought.

  1. That is wonderful, Linda. How did you apply the dye? I need to spend time with some of you wonderful people and pick your brains and show me how to use some of these cool things I've never used before. Can I come over tomorrow? LOL. Actually, if I drive it'll be Thursday before I could get there, probably. LOL.

  2. Hi Suzanne ... I used a water-soluble resist, and applied the dyes with a paintbrush. It was fun!
And in the immortal words of Bob Barker, "Come on down!" LOL!
    Thanks for your nice comments.
