Sea Scape

Take 20 second-grade children, their two teachers, and two dedicated Moms named Christy and Libbie ... mix them all together with a longarm quilter, some beautiful batik fabric, and a bit of threadplay, and you get ... Sea Scape! Click on the image for a bigger view.

This was a customer quilt that I thoroughly enjoyed working on. The children's enthusiasm and joy in creating their sea animals was definitely catching, and I tried to keep the essence of their innocence in the threadwork. The wall-hanging is 50" x 70" and is to be auctioned off to raise funds for the school.

The children are adorable, of course! I've blotted out the names for this web image, but each hat has its owner's name printed on it.
